Algona High School


Algona High School is a 9-12 comprehensive high school accredited by the Iowa Department of Education, and also offers an alternative school program for 9-12 students.  Algona High School offers over 120 course offerings for students, which includes 25 courses for college credit through Iowa Lake Community College.  We offer career academy programming in Broadcast Media, Building Construction, Automotive Technology and Health Care. In addition to our course offerings, we also have outstanding vocational and extra curricular opportunities for our students.  Algona High School began a 1:1 computer environment in January of 2015.  All students have their own Chromebook to use during the school day and to take home at night for school work.

2016-2017 School Year Information
Chromebook reissue for returning 9-12 students will be held August 8th in the library. If you are unable to come on the 8th a second date of August 16th will be held in the library. Letters will be mailed home with all required paperwork to be returned.

Schedules will be available August 1st via the Infinite Campus online portal.

First day of classes will be August 23rd.

Freshman Orientation will be held August 18th from 8:00-12:30.

New students will meet with counselors and principal for tours with Link Leaders August 16th. Please call Central Administration to set up a conference time.
