The Algona swimming and diving team had a great fall season. The team competed in 18 competitions this 2023 swimming season. The team consists of 10 Algona swimmers, one Bishop Garrigan swimmer, and two Estherville swimmers.
One of the highlights from the year is Algona’s diver, Reese Taylor, made it to the State competition, where she finished in 31st place.
The Bulldogs also broke many long standing records. Ella Welp broke the 50 freestyle record. Brooke Ludwig also accomplished beating the 200 freestyle record. Algona swimmer Natalee Reemtsma said, “We really have learned and improved so much the past season. It’s been so fun to experience new memories with teammates and reach goals.”
The swim team had to say goodbye to senior Emily Paulson, who attends Estherville High School.
After a great season, Algona is looking forward to another great season in 2024.
