This week’s Senior Spotlight is Landon Welp. Landon is the son of Dan and Amy Welp. He is the older brother of Ella Welp, who is a freshman, and McCain Welp, who is a 6th grader.
At AHS, Landon is involved in football, basketball, golf, Student Senate, Link Crew, and National Honors Society. He is also very involved in the community by mowing in the summer for the city. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends and family, listening to music, and playing video games. He has many hobbies, including playing sports, video games, and many other activities with his friends.
Landon’s favorite school memory is Superstars because he is back to back to back spikeball champions with Daniel Kemna and is hoping to win again this year. Landon’s advice for underclassmen is: “Just BE YOU! Don’t let anyone dictate who or how you are.”
After graduating, Landon plans to attend the University of Iowa to do something in the science field but is unsure what major yet. He plans to get on the physical therapy track later. Landon says, “I look forward to meeting new people and making a lot of memories at college.”
