End of the year 2024

Believe it or not, summer is just around the corner! Students still have important events until they hang their bookbags up for the year. The last day of school is May 22nd, and the seniors are done on May 15th. Mark your calendars for the following events to end the 2023-2024 school year.

On May 6th, the boys’ golf team travels to Fort Dodge for the NCC meet, and the girls’ golf team travels to Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone for their NCC meet.

May 7th, the FFA plant sale begins. It is also the AHS Spring Concert and awards ceremony

May 8th, the FFA plant sale continues and the boys have golf Sectionals.

May 9th, plant sale continues, the boys and girls have their District track meets.

May 11th, the girls’ golf team has a meet in Storm Lake.

May 13th, there is a school board meeting and boys’ golf have a meet.

May 14th, senior awards take place in the PAC, and the baseball team has their first game in Charles City.

May 15th, last day of school for seniors, and the girls’ golf team has their Regional meet. At night, baccalaureate will take place at the Faith Assembly Church.  

May 16th, boys’ and girls’ track travel down to Drake University for State track. Also, the baseball team faces Spencer at their home opening game.

May 17th, the boys’ and girls’ track teams are at State.

May 18th,  boys’ and girls’ track teams are still at State.

May 19th, commencement for the seniors will take place at 2:00 in the gym. 

May 20th and 21st, the boys’ golf team has State. The freshmen, sophomores, and juniors also have May Term in a variety of places. Students can play games at the high school, travel for a camping trip, or go on an overnight stay in Lansboro, Minnesota, just to name a few May Term options.

May 22nd, the end of the fourth quarter and the last day of school with dismissal at 11:30 a.m. 

Regarding her thoughts on the school year ending, Aleena Rosacker said, “It’s sad to be leaving, but I couldn’t have asked for better people here at AHS who helped me succeed and graduate.” 

Make sure you make note of the many events that are taking place up until the last day of school!
