On April 2nd, the choir class visited Wartburg College. They sang at a chapel service and had a clinic with Dr. Lee Nelson. While talking to Dr. Nelson, the Algona choir sang and improved their songs “Ubi Caritas,” “Walk Together Children,” and “Ye Followers of the Lamb.” Also while there, Wartburg College provided the Algona choir students with lunch and a tour of the facility. The Algona choir also met and sang with the Waverly-Shell Rock choir as they were also singing the same songs as Algona.
On April 16th, the choir took a trip to Waldorf College to have a clinic with Dr. Emilie Bertram and got to be part of the conduction class which showed them how the choir and conducting students work together as a team. While visiting Waldorf, they had lunch and got to tour the facility.
Both of these experiences helped the choir improve their pieces and get ready for their upcoming concert and large group competition. Large group contest will be held on May 9th and Algona gets to host this year!
