On April 21st, the Algona trapshooting team headed to Ventura for the Mason City Invitational. Overall on the night, Algona ended up in first place. Landon Thompson was the overall high male individual on the night with a perfect 50. This was the first perfect 50 shot thus far in the season. Thompson comments on the night, “Shoot them straight.” In addition, many Algona trapshooting members shot their overall best score of the season. The best female shooter for Algona was Makayla Erpelding. Some teams included in the Mason City Invitational were Algona, Bishop Garrigan, Mason City, Garner- Hayfield, Osage, Northwood, and Saint Ansgar.
On Wednesday, April 23rd, the trapshooting team traveled to Palmer for the Humboldt Wildcat Invitational. The Algona team tied for 4th place. Cody Harms was the high male scorer with a score of 48. Emma Smith was the female high shooter for the night with a score of 42.
Algona competed against other teams such as Humboldt, Pocahontas, GTRA, Emmet County, Alta-Aurelia, and Bishop Garrigan.
