Prom dance 2025

Written by Caitlin Louscher

Algona High School's Prom was last Saturday, April 26th. Both juniors and seniors were invited to this special occasion. This year the junior class picked the theme Garden of Glamour.

The high school commons was decorated with greenery, flowers, water scenery, and stars. In the gym is where the juniors set up the Grand March. In the gym, the stage was set up for the attendants to walk out and pose with their date. The stage was lit up with twinkle lights, light up trees, and garden greenery.

After the Grand March, the students got right to it with the dance. The dance went on from nine until midnight. During the dance students got to slow dance, dance with their friends, and even did the “Cotton Eye Joe.” Aiden Ulrich commented, “Keep calm and think Prom.”

After the dance students changed out of their dress clothes and into their comfy clothes with the Prom shirts they got that fit the theme. Once everyone was changed, they headed to the gym to get hypnotized. The students who got hypnotized were dressing up, playing the piano/drums, model walking, and they even went to the north pole! Soon after the hypnotizing was done, the attendees headed to the commons to play games, arts and crafts, eat, and get  prizes! After Prom went from one in the morning till three-thirty in the morning.

Not only is Prom a fun day to get dressed up and hang out with friends, it's also a great way to make some of the best memories you can as a high school student.  Kaitlyn Burns said, “Prom was fun.” Prom is something that the juniors and seniors of this year will cherish for the rest of their lives.
