The girls’ basketball team currently has a record of 14 and 4 as they are almost done with their regular season.
The girls pushed their way through at home on the 27th of January, beating St. Edmond 57- 39. Freshman Kate Limbaugh scored 17 points and had 14 rebounds.
On the 29th the girls hosted a game against Humboldt that had previously been postponed. The Bulldogs won the game with a score of 66-25, making the Bulldogs have a record of 13-4. Junior Taylor VanOtterloo had a good night with four assists.
Maya Lentz scored 12 points and had 3 assists against Webster City, helping the Bulldogs beat the Lynx 47-27 at Webster City on January 30th.
On Monday, February 2nd, the Bulldogs were in action against Clarion Goldfield Dows. Clarion had not had a team last year, so this is a rebuilding season for them. The Bulldogs had a big win over the Cowgirls, beating them 66-8.
At 6:00pm on Tuesday, February 3rd, the Bulldogs traveled to Charles City to take on the Comets. The Bulldogs have been battling some illnesses but still came away with another big win, 69-11. Hayden McLaughlin led in points with 20, followed closely by BellaJo Dunning with 18.
Tonight the Bulldogs host Hampton-Dumont-CAL. The Bulldogs’ last regular season game is next Tuesday, February 10th, at Humboldt.
The girls’ first round of post season play will be on Saturday, February 14th. The Bulldogs will be hosting in their home gym against Southeast Valley, who is currently 2-16 on the season. Junior BellaJo Dunning says, “This is a very special team to play with. I'm looking forward to the post season with my girls! #GoDawgs.”
