The Bulldogs’ baseball team completed their 2025 season with an overall record of 20-10. Through Conference play, the Bulldogs swept Iowa Falls, St. Edmonds, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, and Clear Lake; they split with Webster City and Humboldt and shared the North Central Conference title with Webster City.

The Dogs picked up a couple nice wins along the way, beating ranked 1A teams, Pocahontas and 2026 State Champion, Newman Catholic. Moving to 2A, they defeated Emmetsburg and Carroll Kuemper. Finally, the Bulldogs took down Webster City and Mason City, both ranked in 3A and 4A respectively.

The playoffs ended early for the Bulldogs, as they exited in the first round following a heartbreaking 5-8 loss to North Central Conference rival, the Humboldt Wildcats.

The team received numerous awards to end the season. Wes Streit, Brooks Kuhlmann, Tate Garman, Dawson Elsbecker, and Aiden Engel all earned 1st team All-Conference honors. Owen Moe and Levi Walker were awarded 2nd team All-Conference. Jaxon Eischen received 3rd team All-Conference. On top of these All-Conference honors, three players earned All-District honors. Aiden Engel and Dawson Elsbecker received 2nd team All-District. And Tate Garman was awarded 1st team All-District. Garman also earned 2nd team All-State honors in class 3A.

Algona graduated seven seniors this year: Foster Myhre, Wes Streit, Jaxon Eischen, Tate Garman, Aiden Angel, Levi Walker, and Tate Carter. Coach Slagle stated, “It’s pretty special, this was the kind of class that doesn’t come around very often.”

Although the Bulldogs graduated a solid senior class, they will return five everyday starters along with some young and upcoming talent next season.
