Two Algona students, Kinsey Throne and Olivia Snider, earned a scholarship from the State Science Fair to take a trip to Greece from September 30th through October 11th.
They will be staying at the American Farm School in Thessaloniki and get tours of the farm and facilities. The girls will also get tours of Marianna’s Vine leaves, Agios Antionios Women’s Agricultural Cooperative, get a cooking class at Mama’s Taper, eat dinner at Athens and explore the Ancient Agora food markets, as well as many other activities. They will also be doing some hands-on research and exploring agriculture.
Kinsey Throne says, “I was very excited when my name was called because I had not won any other awards. All I heard was that I won a scholarship, so when I heard that it went toward a trip to Greece, I freaked out!”
