Homecoming 2026 will be held the 21st through the 25th of September. The theme that Student Senate members chose is movie genres. Hallway decorating will take place on Sunday, the 20th, from 12-5. The seniors’ hallway is science fiction focused, the juniors have horror, the sophomores have action, and the freshmen have musicals. Abby Lampe's advice to make Homecoming great is to “help with hallways.”
The dress up days for Homecoming week include Monday as Pajama Day, Tuesday is Adam Sandler Day, Wednesday is Bikers vs Surfers Day, Thursday is Movie Day, and Friday is Spirit Day.
The Homecoming court was decided by the senior class. The queen candidates are Charli Dodds, Reagan Haynes, Taylor VanOtterloo, Ella Welp, and Abby Lampe. The king candidates are Will Limbaugh, Nathan Manske, Jaxon Olmstead, Mason Ulrich, and Alejandro Gonzalez Gutierrez. Those candidates were voted on by all of the high school grades; the winners will be announced on Friday during the coronation and pep rally.
Other fun events throughout the week include the cross country girls and boys traveling to Humboldt on Monday. Tuesday, the volleyball girls have a home game against Spirit Lake. The swim team is also in action Tuesday as they travel to Spencer. Wednesday the high school will compete in muscle volleyball and powderpuff football. Thursday the volleyball team travels to Iowa Falls-Alden and the swim team has a triangular at home. Friday, in the morning, the drum line will go to all of the elementary schools for pep rallies with the football seniors joining them. It’s new this year that the Homecoming court will be attending the pep rallies as well. At the pep rally for the high school, the king and queen will be announced, dance team and band will perform, class games will be played, and students will be highlighted. At night the football team is home against MOC-Floyd Valley. Last year when the Bulldogs played MOC-Floyd Valley, they lost 14-13, so the Dogs are looking for redemption. The band will perform at half time and the Homecoming court will be announced as well as who won the king and queen.
