Ella Welp swim 9/22/26

The Algona girls’ swim team traveled to Fort Dodge on September 10th. They competed in a triangular against Fort Dodge and Sioux City West. The Bulldogs placed third, scoring 45 points. Some highlights from the night were Ella Welp placing first in the 50Y Freestyle. Another highlight was the Algona 200Y Medley Relay placing second. 

Next, the Bulldogs traveled back to Fort Dodge to compete in the Gray Winker Individual on September 19th. The individual included five highly competitive teams. Carroll, Fort Dodge, Sioux City West, and Spencer all competed on Saturday. The Bulldogs placed 5th, scoring 133 points. Some impressive finishes from the day were Ella Welp placing 2nd in 100Y Freestyle and Lily Elness placing 4th in the 100Y Butterfly. Swim 9/22/26

The ladies hosted their first home meet of the season on September 21st. The Bulldogs raced the Spencer Tigers and came up short on the night, scoring 34 points. Senior, Riley Schechinger, stated, “Swim team allows you to spend time with great teammates. It also gives you something you can push yourself to keep getting better at by improving your times.” 

The Bulldogs were back in action at home on September 24th. They faced the Fort Dodge Dodgers. The Bulldogs did a great job! 

Next, the Bulldogs will face Decorah in another home meet on October 6th. Good luck Bulldogs!
