Algona High School has some new teachers this year. New to the AHS science department this year is Mrs. Arrowood; she teaches biology and advanced biology.
Mrs. Arrowood attended the University of Northern Iowa. She graduated with a degree in Comprehensive Secondary Science Education with a minor in Biology. She is currently working on her master’s in Science Education.
Before she was a teacher at Algona, she taught at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School for five years. She is currently in her sixth year of teaching. Her favorite part of teaching in Algona is how close the staff are to each other. She said, “I am proud to be a part of the Algona community!”
In her free time she enjoys reading, shopping, playing games, exercising, and getting lost in a good craft. Her new favorite hobby is bird watching, so she got an app on her phone to help her identify birds. Make sure to stop and say hi if you see her around the school!
