Fall is a great time to get outside. The leaves change colors. The air gets cooler. There are lots of fun activites to do around Algona, Iowa.
One activity is going to a pumpkin patch. There are several right around Algona! Owen Farm is located just past River Road Golf Course, Bode’s Moonlight Gardens is located just before Oak Lake, and Schutjer Farm Stand is by Woden. There is also a really nice pumpkin patch in Fort Dodge. At all of them you get the chance to pick pumpkins, take pictures, and enjoy the fall weather. More fun activities you could do is go on a hayride or get lost in a corn maze.
You can also visit local parks. While there, you can walk the trails, look at the colorful leaves, and spend time with friends and family. Call Park is an excellent option that’s close by and the leaves have already changed. If you like sports, go to the high school football games. Cheer on the team. Get some hot chocolate.
If you are up for a good scare, head to Okoboji and try out Boji Scare. Located at Arnolds Park in Okoboji, Boji Scare would be a great time for you, your family, and friends. Other haunted houses around the area include one in Clear Lake and one in Pocahontas. Adventureland and ValleyFair also have scare zones.
There are so many things to do around Algona or a short trip away in the fall. You do not need to go far to have fun. Just grab a jacket and enjoy the season!
