Auto DMACC skills 2026

Written by Will Limbaugh

The Algona auto class has been really busy with all of their projects so far this year. The students stay busy by wrenching on vehicles and fixing any problems or issues.

Some of the projects they have worked on this year so far include fixing brakes, oil changes, changing trailing arms on a Ford Escape, putting in new suspension, changing tires, diagnosing electrical problems on vehicles, and working on fuel systems.

The first year auto students this year are Grady Ruger, Aron Contreras, Owen Thein-Evangelista, Braxton Bierle, Cobretti Korte, John Ludwig, and Walker Eilerts. The second year students are James Adams, Levi Allen, John Collins, Eliot Cotto, Collin Duff, Mason Green, Cole Hildman, Grant Kramer, Tucker Brunsvold, and Harold Reynolds.

“The classes are always looking for more projects to work on,” so if you have a vehicle that needs work, contact Tim Ricklefs and see if they can do it. DMACC auto skills test 2026

Some of the auto students competed in a written test competition on October 20th at DMACC. The students had one hour to answer 100 questions about everything vehicle-related. Braxton Bierle and Grant Kramer both qualified for the hands-on competition later in the year, and Tucker Brunsvold and Mason Green were selected as alternates. This is a great accomplishment for these students because around 300 students were competing to get into the hands-on competition.
