This week’s senior spotlight is Elly Louwagie. Louwagie is an outstanding student, and AHS is lucky to have her as a leader in school. Throughout high school, Louwagie has been involved in volleyball, basketball, track and field, link crew, National Honor Society, FFA, and more. She definitely keeps busy and helps out in and outside of school anytime she can. You can always count on her to be there to help out with anything.

When Louwagie is not busy with school, she likes to spend time “hanging out with family and friends.” She also likes to spend time baking and trying new recipes. Louwagie is also very involved at her church, St. Cecilia.

Louwagie’s mom’s name is Shelley Louwagie, and her dad’s name is Todd Louwagie. She has one younger brother, named Reid, who is a freshman at AHS this year. They live in Algona, Iowa.

In the future, Louwagie plans on attending Iowa State University to major in kinesiology on the occupational therapy track. She has always been a fan of the Cyclones and will be one of their biggest fans next year. Louwagie states that she is “very excited for college and can’t wait for something new.”

The next time you see Elly in the hallway, make sure you say hello. Louwagie will be missed in the school next year for sure!
