Track season is back! Practice for both boys and girls started last Monday, March 1st. The boys’ first track meet is an indoor meet in Humboldt on Friday, March 12th. The girls’ first meet is Tuesday, April 6th, in Clear Lake.
Coach Wellman, who is in charge of the shot put and discus, said, “I’m very excited it’s that time of year again. The track team had a great turnout with 51 athletes. We are looking forward to the season and praying for good weather.” Dionna VanGorkom says, “I’m excited for the season to start and looking for a good season, ending at the blue oval.” VanGorkom has been involved in track for the last three years, missing her junior year due to Covid. She made it to State her sophomore year in the open 400.
