Golf 2021 - Carlie Yokimishyn

The girls’ and boys’ golf teams are staying busy as they enter the home stretch for the end of the season. On the third of May, the boys hosted a home dual against ELC. The boys lost with 192 points while Estherville had 180. Top scores for the boys were James Wartick with a 43, Evan Deal had a 47, Luke Carter shot a 49, and Logan Meendering finished with a 53. 

The next day, the boys traveled to Clarmond Country Club for a triangular against Clarion and Central Springs. The boys placed second with 188 points. Clarion came in first, scoring 185, and Central Springs was third with a score of 202. Both James Wartick and Logan Meendering shot a 46, Patrick Louscher followed with a 47, and Evan Deal had a 49.

On the 4th of May, the girls hosted Clarion at River Road. They came up short to the Cowgirls, scoring 228 points to 222. Carlie Yokimishyn was the first place medalist with a 54. Natalie Walker shot a 56, Greta Lampe had a 58, and Isabelle Gibbs had a 60.

The boys went to West Bend on the seventh for a rescheduled meet. They came in 1st as a team while North Union came in 2nd and West Bend was 3rd. 

The girls had an early morning and traveled to Spencer on the 8th for an invitational tournament. They placed 4th overall as a team with Spencer coming in first. Natalie Walker was the top scorer, coming in 10th place with a 115. Carlie Yokimishyn followed with a 117, Isabelle Gibbs had a 123, and both Faith Huber and Faith Zeller shot a 131. 

Both the boys and girls had Conference tournaments on the 10th. The boys traveled to Fort Dodge and placed 8th. The Webster City Lynx were the Conference champs this year. Top scorers for the boys were James Wartick with a 87, Logan Meendering had a 90, Evan Deal finished with a 98, and Patrick Louscher shot a 106. 

The Conference meet for the girls was held at the Mason City Country Club. The team finished 7th overall. Clear Lake was 1st in the Conference. Carlie Yokimishyn was once again the top scorer for the Bulldogs, shooting a 108. Natalie Walker had a 117 and Isabelle Gibbs followed closely behind with a 118. Abby Brooks shot a 121. 

On the 13th, the boys went to their Sectional tournament at Spencer. Today the girls journey to Forest City for another invitational tournament. They also have their upcoming Regional tournament on the 24th. The boys finish off their season on the 20th with their District meet in Spencer.
