AHS’s cross-country team traveled to Humboldt on Monday, September 20th. Here, the boys placed fourth overall, with an average time of 19:53.77. Ryan Stundahl placed first with a time of 18:03.78, Jace Mortensen placed nineteenth with a time of 19:22.58, and Isaac Wilson placed forty-first with a time of 20:21.33.

The girls had an average time of 23:55.09 at Humboldt and placed fifth overall. Moriah Knapp got first with a time of 20:31.04, Eliza Shultz got twenty-third with a time of 23:40.26, and Brooklyn Helmers got twenty-eighth with a time of 24:00.07. Allison Casey, a runner on Algona’s Varsity team, says, “I’m really proud of how the team’s doing so far. I’m excited to keep running with them.”

At Algona’s only home meet, which was on Monday, September 27th, the boys placed eighth and the girls placed ninth. For the boys, Stundahl placed first, Mortensen placed eleventh, Wilson placed twenty-first, and right behind him, Zach Duckert placed twenty-second. On the girls’ team, Knapp placed first, Schultz placed twelfth, and Malyn Davis placed twenty-fourth.

The Bulldogs’ next meet is on Tuesday, October 5th, at the Eagle Grove Country Club. Good luck to the runners as they near the end of their regular season!
