Band halftime 9/10/21

The Algona High School Scarlet Regiment Marching band had their first competition on September 18th, 2021. They traveled to Waseca, Minnesota, at 2:00 PM. When the band arrived at Waseca school, they left in groups to eat. Afterwards, the band got into their uniforms and practiced for their first competition of the year. The Scarlet Regiment took the field and put on a great performance.

With fingers crossed, the band waited in suspense to find out where they placed. The Scarlet Regiment band placed 2nd in Division 2A. They also won a drawing for $250. Later that night, they watched the rest of the bands perform and watched fireworks after.

The band marched in the Homecoming parade on September 24th, 2021. That same night they performed during halftime at the Homecoming football game.

The next event for the Scarlet Regiment will be on October 2nd, at Algona Band Day. At Band Day, bands from all over march in the parade and compete, as well as compete with their field performance on the football field that night. The band is excited about this year’s performances.

The seniors of 2022 get a fantastic last year with the two incredibly positive, motivating, and fun band teachers, Nick Liebl and Kurt Kissinger. Liebl says, “I am very proud of the band’s work throughout the summer and fall, coming in early in the morning to late at night. I am excited for them to share their hard work with their school in the community of Algona. Tear it up. Beast!!!”

Wish the Scarlet Regiment luck at Algona Band Day on October, 2nd!
