Arrowood

Mr. Arrowood is a new teacher here at AHS, teaching general science and anatomy.

While teaching here is new to Arrowood, the school in general is familiar to him. Arrowood is a former student of Algona High School, graduating in 2016. After high school, Arrowood went to college at the University of Northern Iowa, graduating with a degree in science teaching.

Before being hired to teach at Algona, Arrowood was a substitute teacher here.

Mr. Arrowood says he has always wanted to be a teacher. The reason he decided to come back to Algona was because of all of the smiles here. He loves getting his students involved in the classroom by movement and giving them a chance to talk. He describes his teaching style as “chaos.” Arrowood also is an assistant Varsity basketball coach and coaches middle school track.

Mr. Arrowood’s hobbies include working out, watching football, and thinking deeply. Mr. Arrowood’s words of advice is to “stay true to yourself.”  If you see Mr. Arrowood’s bright personality in the hallways, be sure to say hi!
