Perry's 500

The season is coming close to an end for the Algona volleyball girls. The girls are working hard to make ends meet to end the season with great games and learning new things along the way to play smarter.

On October 7th, the girls traveled to Humboldt and took a 0-3 loss against a very tough Wildcat team. This game was upsetting for the Dogs, but good things were done within the game, such as A’Lailah Perry dominating with her amazing swings to lead the team in kills. Maddie Rahe also added to the game with her fast moving digs of the ball, adding in fourteen on the night. Maddie Rahe states, “Even though our record didn’t show it, we had a successful season. I think every practice and game was a successful learning experience!”

On October 11th, the Dogs were home to host Webster City. It was also Senior Night for the girls and Pink Out to raise awareness for breast cancer. The girls suffered a loss of 0-3. Perry was the kill leader again and had the most digs with fifteen. Perry also made a record of having 500 kills in her high school career already, as a junior! Perry states, “We’ve had a lot of ups and downs, but I feel like we have learned quite a bit throughout the process.”

As the Bulldogs came to their last final game of the regular season, they traveled to St. Edmond, on Thursday, October 14th. Here they went a full five games with the Gaels, but came up short in the end.

Continuing forward, the girls will host a home tournament on Saturday, October 16th, and on Monday, the 19th, the Dogs will play in their first round of Regionals against Garner.
