The cross country team ran at the Eagle Grove Country Club on Tuesday, October 5th. The boys placed fourth with an average time of 19:46.94 and a total time of 1:38:54.69. The girls, who also placed fourth, had an average time of 24:45.77 and a total time of 2:03:48.86.
On the boys’ team, Ryan Stundahl placed 4th, Zach Duckert placed 27th, and Joesph Ricklefs placed 28th. Ricklefs said, “Cross country is a fun, energetic, and awesome sport.” Right behind them, Isaac Wilson placed 31st and Dylan Alt placed 32nd. For the girls, Moriah Knapp placed 1st, Malyn Davis placed 17th, and Allison Casey placed 25th.
At the Conference meet in Goldfield, which was on Tuesday, October 12th, the boys placed fourth and the girls placed fifth. Top runners for the boys were Ryan Stundahl in 2nd, Jace Mortensen in 10th, and Zachary Duckert in 24th. For the girls, Moriah Knapp placed 4th, Eliza Shultz placed 10th, and Brooklyn Helmers placed 28th.
Algona will compete in the District meet on October 20th, location yet to be determined.
