The NC-ICDA Honor Choir held their concert on November 8th, in Mason City, on the NIACC campus. Students are accepted based on director recommendation. The students who participated in this choir are the same ones who auditioned for All-State because the song choices are the same. For All State, the students had to prepare their own songs. You don’t have to make All State to be in Honor Choir. “It’s a great way to sing the songs one last time,” states Isabelle Gibbs.
Five students from Algona High School were invited to attend. Ryley Riggert, Adeline Reynolds, Seth Walker, Dane Nygaard, and Isabelle Gibbs all went from Algona.
The concert went well. All of the groups performed very well. The students performed in the Festival Choir. The director was Chris Phalen from Buena Vista in Storm Lake.
