Student Spotlight - Kenzi Carrigan

Kenzi Carrigan is the daughter of Crystal and Pete Menage. She has three siblings: Nick Soenen, Taylor Madden, and Lilly Mengae. She loathes animals, but despite her hatred, she has chickens, cats, a dog, and a guinea pig.

Kenzi is a very involved student at AHS. She is a link crew leader and is the senior class secretary. She is also very honored to be a yearly participant in the science fair and a member of the National Honor Society. Kenzi loves to be active year-round, so she also plays volleyball and softball.

Outside of school, Kenzi continues to be active in the community by volunteering at the animal shelter and donating blood. She loves to hang out with her friends, cook, and work out. Kenzi is also a waitress at Miller’s Sports Bar and Grill.

Kenzi is a senior at Algona High School and her favorite high school memory is decorating the showcase with her friends.

After graduation, Kenzi is moving to Ames to go to college at Iowa State University. She plans on majoring in architecture and pursuing her dreams.

Kenzi advises the underclassmen to get involved in many school activities, but do not overwhelm themselves. You need to find a balance between work and fun.

While she is very excited to graduate, Kenzi is going to miss all of her favorite staff. Kenzi says to AHS, “#RISE.”
