Basketball - Hilbert 2022

The AHS girls’ basketball season came to an end in the first round of postseason play against Forest City. The girls traveled to Forest City on Saturday, the 12th, and ended a very close, hard fought game with a score of 41-45. A’Lailah Perry was the leading scorer, dropping 16 points. The girls had a strong season and played their hearts out. 

The girls’ season has come to an end and they had to say goodbye to one of their star players, senior Maddie Hilbert. She was a great person to have on the team and she has great sportsmanship and leadership. The girls’ basketball team will be sad to see Maddie go. 

The boys hosted Clear Lake on Friday, the 11th, and ended the game with a score of 54-46, with a tough Clear Lake team coming away with the win. Tyler Manske was the leading scorer with a total of 13 points. 

On Tuesday, the 15th, the boys traveled to Webster City. The boys started up early against a good Lynx team but ended up just short, 59-64. Tyler Manske was the leading scorer in this game with a total of 16 points, followed close behind by Garrett Goche with a total of 12 points. 

The boys ended their season in the first round of playoffs on Monday, the 14th, competing against Spencer at Spencer High School. They worked hard against a tough Tigers team, but lost 45-78. Manske led in points with 14 while Garrett Goche added in 13. 

The boys say goodbye to several key senior leaders: Jackson Cecil, Garrett Goche, Tyler Manske, Stren Crouch, and Jordan Buscher.
