FCCLA

Mrs. Louwagie runs the FCCLA program at Algona High School. FCCLA stands for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. This program helps the students who are involved learn leadership skills through different experiences around the area.

The goal of the FCCLA program is to give students career exploration and leadership development. With that, they want to empower students to balance everything they have going on in their lives. They learn directly from industry professionals to learn teamwork, creativity, leadership, responsibility, and time management skills.

The officers for 2022-2023 have already been elected. The president is Ashley Cantu, the vice president is Sydney Seebecker, the secretary is Maggie Wartick, and the treasurer is Samantha Frambach.

So far the school has 15 active members, and Mrs. Louwagie is looking to grow the membership to about 50 members next year. The secretary, Maggie Wartick, says, “I love going on all of the fun trips. It is such a fun experience.”

If this program interests anyone, make sure to ask the existing members, or Mrs. Louwagie to join this great learning opportunity to get prepared for the future!
