FFA Labor Auction 2022

The annual FFA banquet will be held on Tuesday, March 22nd, in the PAC. The banquet consists of many awards given to members from the 2021-2022 school year. Past FFA members will come home for the banquet to receive awards they have earned as well. FFA scholarships will be presented that night as well. During the banquet, a silent and live auction, with all proceeds going to the chapter for activities, events, and scholarships, will take place. The most exciting event of the night is when the 2021-2022 officers hand over their duties to the new 2022-2023 FFA chapter officers. This year's officers are Collin Casey as president, Molly Bormann as vice president, Nick Christensen as sentinel, Joe Schumacher as reporter, Connor Olmstead as treasurer, Beth Anderson as secretary, and Morgan Kelly as student advisor.

The Algona FFA chapter held their annual pancake feed and labor auction on Monday, March 7th, in the high school commons. Pancakes were provided with sausage, drinks, syrup, and butter by Chris Cakes. There was a free will donation for this meal that went to  a community service project at the Kossuth County Fairgrounds.

Following the pancake feed, FFA students were auctioned off for proceeds going towards the community service project at the Kossuth County Fairgrounds. Students will work for the person who purchased their labor for a few hours on a set date agreed upon by the purchaser and student. The labor auction was started to raise money for the FFA chapter, so they are able to do all of the fun activities planned, but this year’s proceeds go towards the service project. Senior, Garrett Goche, says, “The pancake feed is my favorite event held within the FFA.”
