Student Spotlight - Olivia Foertsch

Olivia Foertsch is the daughter of Dale Foertsch and Cindy Nemmers. She is the youngest of her five sisters: Chandra, Amanda, Moriah, Mikaela, and Ellie. She loves her dog, Rocky, who is a boxer terrier mix.

In school, Olivia is a representative for Student Senate and is also a member of the National Honor Society. For fun in school, she loves to help her friend, Kenzi Carrigan, with the showcase that is located next to Mrs. Spear’s room. Her favorite class is journalism, where she gets to work on the yearbook. Her favorite memory from high school is all of the football games she attended and the excitement of the Dawg Pound.

Outside of school, Olivia is a hard and dedicated worker at Good Samaritan Society Algona as a Certified Nursing Aid. Her favorite part about her job is getting to interact with all of the residents, who she views as family.

In her free time, Olivia enjoys cleaning and hanging out with her friends and boyfriend. She likes to shop and enjoys a cold cream soda any time of the day.

After high school, Olivia plans to attend Mercy College of Health Sciences to get her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, BSN. She is planning on living at Prairie Point with one of her friends, Andra Hoover, and is very excited to get to experience life outside of Algona. Olivia states, “I’m excited to experience new things.”

Olivia advises the underclassmen to have fun and work hard in school because it will pay off in the end.
