State Science Fair - Stren Crouch

State Science Fair was held on March 24, 2022, at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. There were approximately 200 projects at the State Science Fair from all across Iowa. Six students from Algona High School participated this year.

Overall the AHS students did very well! Kenzi Carrigan and Olivia Frankl were awarded honorable mention in environmental science. Kenzi Carrigan states, β€œIt was a great experience to learn STEM.” Emerson Waltz got third place in environmental science and was selected as a freshman observer, which is a trip to Atlanta, Georgia. Waltz also received a $500 scholarship to Iowa State College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Hoyt Crouch was awarded honorable mention in engineering and earned a $1000 ISU engineering scholarship. Audrey Snider was awarded honorable mention in animal science. Stren Crouch got second place in Astronomy and Physics and was awarded a $1000 ISU engineering award, a $4200 NASA award, and a Cosmos award VIP to see Neil deGrasse Tyson.
