The AHS Model UN team went to a conference on the 22nd of September. They met at NIACC in Mason City for the North Central Iowa Regional Conference. This meeting is the predecessor to the State convention in November. Members spent the day discussing ideas with other schools and writing papers about designated topics.
Members Tora Solbach and Riker Brindley were chosen as outstanding delegates to represent their respective committees at the State conference. Members Flynn McCann, Joseph Strucker, Faith Huber, and Paige Vileta were chosen as alternates.
Evie Guenther says, “Model U.N. is fun once you get used to the language and terminology.”
Up next, the Model U.N. team heads to the state capitol in Des Moines on November 2nd and 3rd. There they will reconvene and discuss ideas with schools across the state.
