Senior Spotlight - A'Lailah Perry

A’Lailah Perry is the senior spotlight for this week. A’Lailah was born and lived in Hutchinson, Kansas, for a year before moving to Algona, where she has attended the Algona Community School District ever since. Beth and Corey Johnson, as well as Kim and Vince Perry, are A’Lailah’s parents. Treyton and Keyon are A’Lailah’s two younger brothers. A’Lailah spends her time nannying during the summer. In her spare time, A’Lailah likes to hang out with her friends, spend time with her family, watch Netflix, nap, exercise, and hit the gym to get in some reps.

A’Lailah participates in a number of extracurricular activities at AHS, including volleyball, basketball, track, and Student Senate. A’Lailah considers getting her 500th volleyball kill against Webster City during her junior year of high school as one of her favorite memories. A’Lailah’s favorite high school course was project management with Mr. Bradley. One piece of advice A’Lailah gives to students at AHS is, “Don’t wish high school away, live in the moment.”

A’Lailah has committed to play volleyball at Northern State University, where she also intends to study sports management in the fall of 2023.
