Football vs. Nevada 10/7/22

The Algona Bulldog football team just finished their seventh game of the season. They currently have an overall record of  4-3. Their wins came from Emmetsburg, Clear Lake, Garner Hayfield Ventura, and Gilbert. Their losses came from Boyden Hull Rock Valley, North Polk, and Nevada. 

The Bulldogs played Gilbert on Homecoming night, September 30. They beat the Tigers 28-25 in an overtime thriller. Senior Lamorn Ulfers rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns. Alex Manske also ran for one touchdown. Manske threw for 156 yards. Manske also led the team in tackles, having a total of 11.5 and reeled in one interception. 

The Bulldogs just lost their last game against a tough Nevada Cubs team. That game was on October 7. Tristin Larsen led the team in receiving with five receptions for 109 yards and one touchdown. Lamorn Ulfers led the team in tackles, with seven and a half. Coach Jacobsen told the team in the huddle, “We need to stick together and work harder in these upcoming weeks.”

The Bulldogs now travel to Ballard to take on the Bombers. The game will take place on October 14. The Bombers enter the game with an overall record of 1-6. Their most recent game was a loss to North Polk. The game kicks off at 7:00 in Ballard.
