The Algona band marched in the Homecoming parade on Friday, September 30th, followed by their performance that night at halftime of the football game, and then the next day at Band Day.
Algona has hosted Band Day for the past 74 years. Although the band does not compete in the parade and the field show, it still gives Algona an amazing chance to perform in front of a crowd and show off their hard work.
The Scarlet Regiment Band has been spending a lot of time leading up to these past couple days.
On Saturday, October 8th the band travels back to Fort Dodge for the second time, competing in their last competition of the season. The last time the band competed at the North Central Marching Band Invitational in Fort Dodge they won and were the Class 3A champions! Kurt Kissinger, band instructor, stated that the band has “elevated their performance to new heights.”
