Special Olympics bowling 2022

On Wednesday, October 12th, the Algona Special Olympics team traveled to Fort Dodge, Iowa. There were six athletes from Algona High School and Algona Middle School who competed against athletes from all around the area. They traveled to Fort Dodge to compete in this regional bowling competition.

Katelyn Ortloff finished in first, Kolby Preuschl finished in first, Alex Romero-Foust finished in first, Emma Lucas finished in third, Ryder Schultz finished in second, and Gage Peterson finished in fourth in their divisions. 

Athletes who placed first in this District competition qualified for the State bowling competition in November.  Congratulations to Ortloff, Preuschl, and Romero-Foust for moving on!

Bowling is the Special Olympic team’s first competition of the year. They will also compete in basketball, track and field, and swimming throughout this school year. The team is led by their coach, Mr. Taylor. Taylor says, “We're looking forward to a fun and exciting year! Go Bulldogs!”
