The Algona High School football team played their 8th and final game of the season, ending their 2022 season with an overall record of 4-5.
Last Friday, October 14th, the team traveled almost two hours away to Ballard High School. Algona worked hard against a tough Ballard Bomber team but lost 19 to 35. Quarterback, Alex Manske, had 139 passing yards and scored two touchdowns. Senior, Lamorn Ulfers, had 15 rushing yard attempts for a total of 88 yards and one touchdown.
On Friday, October 21st, the Algona Bulldogs hosted a really tough Humboldt team. Algona lost by 23 points, leaving the score at 8-31. Ulfers made a touchdown and rushed for 70 yards. Jayden Erpelding stated, “I’m excited for next season but a little disappointed how this season ended.”
The loss to the Wildcats ends the 2022 football season for Bulldogs. The team will lose seniors: Lamorn Ulfers, Tristin Larsen, Harrison Waltz, Levi Clegg, Caden Weber, Simon Feucht, Austin Steenhoek, Jensen Eischen, John Cox, Carlos Gomez, Caleb Omdahl, Aiden Morris, Cayden Anderson, Ayden Seely, and Daniel Davilla.
