Reece Taylor diving 2022

On Tuesday, October 25th, the swim team had a meet in Carroll and placed 3rd with 38 points. Highlights from that night included Emily Paulson finishing in 29.76 in the 50 Yard Freestyle, Brooke Ludwig finishing in 1:04.07 in the 100 Yard Freestyle, and the Algona relay team finishing second in the 200 Yard Medley Relay.

Freshman, Reece Taylor, dove at Regionals on Thursday, November 3rd, in Johnson. Taylor is Algona’s first diver in school history! She has had a good season this year, improving her points on dives throughout the season. Reece Taylor states, “Swimming is such a positive environment and everyone always wants to see everyone succeed.” At Regionals, Taylor finished in the top 32 in the state. She advanced to the State competition with a 16th place finish in the Regional meet. Taylor was also the top scoring freshman! State will be held Friday, November 11th. Good luck Reece!

On Saturday, November 5th, the swimmers finished out their season at Regionals in Fort Dodge. The team finished 9th. Some highlights from Regionals include Natalee Reemtsma in 20th in the 200 Yard Individual Medley and Mada Steburg in 18th in the 100 Yard Butterfly.
