This week’s senior spotlight is Lauren Anderson. She is the daughter of Matt and Dini Anderson. Lauren was born in Mason City, Iowa, but grew up here in Algona with her siblings: Amanda, Hunter, and Beth.
Lauren is involved in a lot of activities here at AHS. A few are FFA, cross country, and National Honor Society. Along with her activities in school, she keeps busy after hours. She likes to be with her family, hang out with her friends, play with her animals, and show her cattle. She also keeps busy by working around the house and helping out with chores.
After Lauren graduates high school, she is planning on going to Iowa State University to major in animal science.
Lauren’s favorite part of high school was being a part of the cross country team. She loved growing throughout the season. Her favorite class is advanced biology. Lauren’s encouragement to the underclassmen is, “You can do anything if you put your mind to it and never give up.”
