Special Olympics State bowling 2022

On October 12th, six AHS students traveled to Fort Dodge to compete in the Special Olympics Regional bowling meet. Katelyn Ortloff, Kolby Preuschl, Alex Romero Foust , Ryder Sean, Emma Lucas, and Gaje Allyn competed. Ortloff, Preuschl, and Romero Foust placed 1st, so they got the opportunity to move on to State.

The three students who made it to State competed on November 19th. Both Kolby and Alex placed 1st and Katelyn placed 3rd. Mr. Taylor, Special Olympics coach, took these athletes to Regional and State bowling. Katelyn Ortloff really enjoyed the experience. She said it was, “All thanks to Mr. Taylor.”

On Wednesday, November 30th, the Special Olympics athletes who competed at State were recognized in a winter pep rally.

Next up, these students will be moving onto basketball. They will be working on basketball skills. Congratulations to the Special Olympic State bowling students.
