This week’s senior spotlight is Brooklyn Helmers. She has been with the Algona Community School District ever since she was in preschool. Josh and Kelley Helmers are the parents of Brooklyn, and she has a little sister named Brielle.
Brooklyn has been involved in many activities throughout high school. She has participated in cross country, track, and softball. She is also involved in Student Senate, Link Crew, and National Honor Society. Throughout high school, her favorite subject was PE with TerHark. Brooklyn’s favorite high school memory is making it to State softball two years in a row. For underclassmen, Brooklyn advises, “Balance out your school work while still making time for meaningful memories along the way.”
In Brooklyn’s free time, she enjoys shopping, going to Starbucks with friends, and watching movies.
Next year, Brooklyn will be attending Iowa State University to study business.
