Yearbook cover 2023

Journalism II is an elective course at Algona High School. This class covers the school newspaper, yearbook, and senior book. The articles for the school newspaper also get submitted to the local newspaper and are on the AHS website and app. The school newspaper is published every other Friday.

The 2022-2023 yearbook is High School Musical themed. The Journalism I students voted on what theme would be the best for this year's yearbook, and High School Musical had the most votes. The yearbook contains a bunch of activities that are here at AHS. It consists of sports, fine arts, Homecoming, extra curricular activities, classes, dances, and so much more! The yearbook costs $55 to recap the 2022-2023 school year, and students can keep it forever. The yearbooks will be delivered to AHS in the fall of 2023.

The Journalism II class is also making the senior book. The senior book has every senior who chooses to be in it and has questions about themselves that they can answer. Three pictures are also to be on the student's page: a baby picture, an elementary/first day of school picture, and a senior picture. The senior book information was due on January 31 so the Journalism II students can get a head start on making them. These books will be handed out on graduation rehearsal day and are $20 to every senior who wants one. Ava Henry states, "It's fun to be involved with the senior book because I enjoy looking at the funny answers some kids put down for their questions."

The yearbook and senior books will be printed in color and can be ordered through Mrs. Spear or online through Infinite Campus.
