Volleyball 2023

The Algona volleyball team had an outstanding 2023 season. Leading the North Central Conference, they finished with an overall record of 15-13 and 5-2 in the Conference.

The girls kicked off the start of the season in August at the Early Bird Invitational tournament in Okoboji. The Bulldogs took home 1st place medals, going 3-0, defeating Okoboji, South O’Brien, and Manson Northwest Webster. After a good day of playing, the Algona volleyball team was ready for the season ahead of them.

On October 12, 2023, the Bulldogs traveled to Humboldt to determine the Conference title. Going into the game, Algona had a Conference record of 5-1 and Humboldt had a record of 4-2. Both teams did an excellent job and played a great game. The Bulldogs lost 3-0, each set being within a couple of points.

The Algona Bulldogs and Humboldt Wildcats shared the 2023 Conference title. This was the first time in 13 years for the Bulldogs to have a Conference title in volleyball.

Some personal highlights of the season were Najolie Price making First Team All Conference with a total of 196 kills and 95 blocks.
