Cheer clinic 2024

This past Monday, the 29th, AHS hosted an elementary spirit night. The gym was packed with people of all ages. Accessories were passed out to the kids to help get their spirit going. Also, before the game started, the kids lined up and got high fives from all of the players as they ran out.

The Algona VIPs had their 3rd annual Sundae Funday. They served soft serve ice cream and had lots of toppings to choose from, like gummy bears, sprinkles, cookies, and more. The VIPs do this to raise money for the band and choir.

The Algona cheerleaders had their annual cheer clinic on this night as well. The cheerleaders had a lot of girls, from ages Kindergarten through 6th grade. Students aged Kindergarten to 2nd grade did cheers during the girls’ halftime and 3rd through 6th did a competition routine including a cheer, dance, and stunts during the boys’ halftime! Breanna Ricklefs says, “We all had so much fun! I love getting with the littles and making memories with them. It’s one of my favorite parts of cheer!”

The girls’ basketball team had an amazing game against the Clear Lake Lions, winning 54-30. The boys’ basketball team came up short against a tough Lions team with a score of 47-68. Elementary spirit night was a success this year!
