Every year, Algona High School hosts a College Fair. With over 50 colleges from various states, it provides an excellent opportunity for students to explore different options for after high school.
The AHS College Fair will be held on Wednesday, March 6th, from 1:30 to 3:00 pm. There are many different representatives who will be here for all students, such as in-state four year public colleges, in-state four year private colleges, in-state community colleges, and in-state cosmetology schools, just to name a few.
For students wanting to explore further away options, there will be out of state four year public colleges, out of state four year private colleges, and out of state community and technical colleges.
For students who want to go to college for healthcare or go into the military, representatives from different programs will also be here.
AHS guidance counselors, Mr. McLaughlin and Mrs. Stein, organize this event. When asked about the College Fair, Mrs. Stein says, “We are happy to host over 50 colleges at our annual fair on March 6th. We feel this is a unique opportunity for our students to be able to meet representatives from many colleges in Iowa and the surrounding states without having to leave Algona High School. All area high school students and parents are welcome to attend!”
