The 2025 Algona Bulldog volleyball team had a great season! The team went 22-6 overall and were 6-1 in Conference play. They came in second in the North Central Conference. In post-season play they advanced to the subState semi finals where they fell to Cherokee Washington, who would make it to the semi finals of the State Tournament.

The Bulldogs lose one senior, Macy Knapp. She was a staple in the Bulldog backrow throughout her career and will be missed. When asked about Macy’s contribution to volleyball, Bulldog junior, BellaJo Dunning, says, “Macy was a huge inspiration and leader for the team. She never stopped working hard and always had a smile on her face. Her fun personality, positive energy, and dedication to the sport will be missed. Her dancing and singing will never be forgotten.” Knapp led the team in digs and had the second most ace serves on the team.

Multiple Bulldogs were named to All Conference teams, starting with Kate Limbaugh being a unanimous first team selection and Knapp Kate Limbaugh All State and All Districtwith first team honors. Taylor VanOtterloo earned second team and Reagan Haynes received third team. Limbaugh also received 3A All District and 3A third team All State.

With there only being one senior, the Bulldogs still have a very bright future ahead of them. Standout freshman, Kate Limbaugh, not only led the team in kills but also led the North Central Conference. She also led the team in ace serves. The team will also bring back a group of veteran juniors, which includes BellaJo Dunning, who led the team in blocks, and Taylor VanOtterloo, who led the team in assists, along with many others who played significant time.
