Algona definitely had a star runner this year. Gavin Weber, a four year Varsity runner for the Bulldogs, took home gold in seven meets throughout the season. At the NCC Conference meet he ran a time of 16:02. His senior year was finally the year that all of his hard work and sacrifices to the sport paid off. Weber ran a time of 16:12 at the 3A State Meet, which landed him in 12th place, earning him some hardware to take home. “Cross country has taught me how to overcome difficult obstacles,” stated Weber.

The Bulldogs graduate four athletes from the team: Barrett Morgan, Breckin Borchardt, Owen Doocy, and Gavin Weber.
