This winter, the boys’ swim team competed a lot and showed great improvement throughout the season. This year the Bears went 1-35 for their second year of being a team.
AHS students Owen Doocy and Colin Roberts ended the season with a couple personal bests. Owen Doocy swam a best of 1:23.09 in the 100 butterfly and Roberts swam a personal best of 1:07.09 in the 100 breast and a 2:20.78 in the 100 individual medley.
They secured their first win against Fort Dodge at the District meet on February 7th where they placed 7th out of 8 teams. They competed at a couple invitationals where the competition was even higher, but they still did their best.
Overall the Bears and the seniors from Algona had a great season. Colin Roberts said, “The only thing better than the meets was sleeping on the way back.”
