The Mental Health Concert is a great chance for students to get to listen to some delightful music, spend time with people who have the same care for mental health awareness, and talk to mental health professionals. “Mental health is a big issue in society and the concert is a good way to shed a positive light on it,” says Student Senate co-advisor, Mrs.Spear.
The Mental Health Concert is put on annually by the AHS Student Senate. Natalee Reemtsma and Abbi Reemtsma are the Student Senate members in charge of it this year.
The Mental Health Concert was started by Emma Elsbecker, who is an AHS alum who is currently seeking her master’s degree in mental health, in 2019. It has been an annual tradition here at AHS with this being the sixth concert; 2020 was skipped due to Covid.
The concert will take place on Friday, March 6th, at 7:00 PM. It will take place in the Wilcox Performing Arts Center. Doors open at 6:00 with mental health professionals in the PAC lobby. Please come attend the concert to hear some wonderful singing, talk to a mental health professional, and support the bake sale.
