FFA Week 2026

Written by William Parcel

The Algona FFA Chapter is preparing to celebrate another exciting National FFA Week, a tradition since 1957. During this week, the chapter highlights the impact of FFA on students and the community. “FFA is very fun," remarked AHS FFA member Taylor Hellman.

National FFA Week will take place Monday, February 23 through Friday, February 27, 2026. Throughout the week, Algona FFA members encourage all students to participate in dress up days and activities.

Monday, February 23, will be Camo Day. Tuesday, February 24, is FFA shirt day. That evening, the chapter will host the annual pancake feed and labor auction in the Algona High School commons. The pancake feed will take place from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. with the labor auction beginning at 6:00 p.m. During the auction, FFA members are offering up to four hours of labor to the highest bidder. All of the earnings help fund chapter events and utilities, such as updating shop equipment, improving greenhouse items, and funding community service projects.

Wednesday, February 25, is America Day. The day will also contain the much awaited Ag Olympics during TAS, where students will compete in agriculture-themed challenges while earning points for their teams.

The week will conclude on Thursday, February 26, with Officer Team Colors Day. Each officer has their own color: Malea Divis is grey, Cassidy Bierstedt is white, Grace Luitjens is blue, Charli Dodds is black, Walker Eilerts is Purple, Alissa Engel is green, and Mrs. Becker is red. Students in FFA are aligned with an officer for their color. Activities for the day will include Goat Yoga during TAS. In addition, Algona High School students are invited to participate in a Truck Show in the gravel lot.

The Algona FFA Chapter would like to thank the Algona Community School District Board of Education and administration for their continued support of agricultural education. Gratitude is also extended to the Algona FFA alumni for their behind the scenes support. The chapter would also like to thank the Kossuth County Advance and KLGA Radio for helping share information about FFA activities with the community. Finally,  the Algona FFA chapter extends sincere appreciation to the Algona community and surrounding towns for their ongoing encouragement and support.
