The Algona FFA Chapter will hold their Annual FFA Banquet on Sunday, March 29th, 2026, beginning at 4:00 pm. The evening will begin with an award ceremony recognizing FFA members for their achievements, followed by a meal and live auction that is open to all members and their families.
During the ceremony, freshmen will receive their Greenhand Degree, sophomores will earn their Chapter FFA Degree, juniors may be awarded either the Chapter or Iowa Degree, and seniors will receive their Iowa Degree if they qualify. All grades can also receive scholarships that are available to the members. In addition, members who have maintained a 3.5 GPA or higher will be recognized with a certificate, and those who met their fruit sales goal will also receive a certificate. Junior, Charli Dodds, says, “It is a great way to highlight everything members have accomplished throughout the year.”
During the FFA banquet, the new officers for the 2026-2027 school year will be announced. The retiring officers will address the audience before the newly elected officers are introduced. Seniors who have participated in FFA throughout all four years of high school will also be recognized. Scholarships will be presented to selected seniors, and the evening will conclude with final remarks from a senior member of FFA and the advisor, Betsy Becker.
The meal after will consist of steak or pork loin along with desserts and drinks. There will also be an auction happening while eating. Proceeds from the auction go to future FFA scholarships.
